Skopje is a city of fascinating contrasts where the ancient Ottoman-era Old Bazaar stands across the Stone Bridge from a dramatically reshaped modern center. The “Skopje 2014” project filled the city with grand neoclassical buildings, monumental statues, and ornate fountains, creating a unique cityscape.

  • Best Old Bazaar view: Rooftop bar at Hotel Arka
  • Most bars close by midnight; late-night clubs are outside center
  • Traditional restaurants are all located in Debar Maalo (area just 10min walk from main Square)
